April war

In early April 2016, when the frontline positions and settlements of Azerbaijan came under intense artillery fire by the Armenian armed forces, our army units prevented provocations with a counterattack. It went down in history as the April battles. The battles resulted in the victory of the Azerbaijani Army. The heights around Talish village of Tartar region, Lalatapa height of Jabrayil region and Jojug Marjanli, Gulustan village of Goranboy region and Madagiz village of Tartar region were liberated from the enemy. Thus, the myth of criminal Armenian leaders about impassable Armenian trenches was overturned. On April 4, the Armenian army again attacked our positions on the frontline, mainly in the direction of Aghdara-Tartar and Khojavend-Fuzuli, in order to return the lost positions, and intensively fired on our settlements near the line of contact. But in the face of the bravery of our warriors, the enemy could not achieve the goal. Their plan to continue the attack by sending additional forces also failed. Our training units hit the headquarters of the enemy's military base in the strategically important settlement of Madagiz and the bus carrying Armenian volunteers. During the operation, the reserve forces that the Armenian armed forces wanted to mobilize from Aghdara, Madagiz and other settlements were destroyed by our units with preventive strikes. Attacks on enemy firing points and artillery installations, as a result of appropriate measures taken by our reconnaissance groups, in the north around the Talysh settlement, which could pose a threat to Goranboy region and Naftalan city, and in the south along the Horadiz city and some villages of Jabrayil region along the Araz River. strategically important areas around it were liberated. New positions were established and engineering and fortification measures were carried out in the territories liberated by our units. Armenian armed forces suffered heavy losses in these battles. According to our information, more than 320 enemies were destroyed and more than 500 Armenian servicemen were wounded. About 30 tanks and other armored vehicles, more than 25 artillery pieces were destroyed, the headquarters and main military units in the Madagiz settlement were destroyed. Agdara-Madagiz, Jabrayil roads in the direction of control was obtained. After the April fighting, in May the presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan met in Vienna with the participation of officials from the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs, and on June 20, trilateral talks were held in St. Petersburg with the participation of the Russian president. During the meetings, an agreement was reached on strengthening confidence-building measures in the conflict zone, establishing mechanisms to investigate incidents, and expanding the office of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office. In fact, it is no secret why Armenia provokes the front every time: the criminal regime constantly aggravates the situation on the front on the eve of negotiations on the settlement of the conflict, thereby trying to divert the minds of its people from the socio-political and socio-economic crisis. Compared to the enemy, Azerbaijan supports a peaceful solution to the conflict and spares no effort in this direction. The Azerbaijani Army conducted an operation against the enemy in our territories. From this point of view, international organizations and influential countries could not say a word against Azerbaijan in connection with the April war. Azerbaijan mutually agreed to suspend military operations, thus demonstrating once again its preference for a peaceful solution to the conflict. The Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict is not a frozen conflict, but a serious threat to the entire region. Official Azerbaijan states that it does not intend to reconcile with the fact of occupation, the current status quo and tolerate Armenian provocations. On the contrary, it is able to respond to the enemy and liberate its lands. The April battles showed the world the strength of the Azerbaijani Army, its determination to win and the restoration of justice. Thanks to the principled, decisive policy of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Ilham Aliyev, Azerbaijan's consistent diplomatic successes put the Armenian leadership in a difficult position, and the occupying country is left out of international economic projects. As the President noted at a meeting with a group of servicemen on the anniversary of the April victory of the Azerbaijani Army, Armenia sacrificed its independent life to the occupation of Azerbaijani lands. President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Ilham Aliyev always states that Armenia's activity as an independent country depends on the regulation of relations with neighbors and the unconditional and immediate withdrawal of its forces from Azerbaijani lands. "We are simply trying to resolve the issue peacefully. But the most modern weapons we have acquired in recent years," I would like to reiterate, "give us the greatest opportunity in the world. This shows once again that the April war was a provocation by Armenia. Now some people put forward different versions, assumptions that Azerbaijan was planning to conduct an operation, which was later stopped, and so on. First, we did what we wanted to do. Today, the military and international experts know that the strategic positions we have achieved have completely changed the situation. If we intended to conduct a large-scale operation during the April fighting, we would use our military potential. .These are not a secret. Everything here is under international monitoring. They know that b What is the power of our long-range missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles? We almost did not use them. But if we use it, the enemy will not be left in the occupied territories. Let them know this and pay attention to the speech of the political leadership of Armenia, which is once again ashamed of itself, and not play with our patience. "  With these words, President Ilham Aliyev reaffirms that the establishment of a second so-called Armenian state on Azerbaijani soil will never be allowed. "Nagorno-Karabakh has always been an integral part of Azerbaijan, and is and will be part of it today."
