Fuzuli is bordered by Jabrail, Khojavend, Aghjabedi, Beylegan and The İslamic Republic of İran along The River Araz. Fuzuli district was occupied by armed armenian forces on August 23, 1993. 22 settlements were released by The Army of The Republic Of Azerbaijan on January 05, 1994. At present, 69.800 people live in the released territories. 400 residents of district are invalid, 181 people are still missing and 657 people were killed by armenian forces. 6 people were honored by the name of “ National Hero of The Republic of Azerbaijan”
