Zengilan district is situated on the south-west of The Republic of Azerbaijan. The area is 730 km², the population of the district is 41,075. İt is bordered in the north by Gubadli, in the east Jabrail, in the south along The River Araz The Islamic Republic of Iran, in the west Mehri and Gafan districts of Armenia. Zangilan was occupied by our vile enemies in the 29th of October, 1993. The people of Zangilan stood in front of our well-armed enemies bravely, never run away. In the sanguinary battles, 188 people were killed, 44 people went missing.
